Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast had a thunderous opening at the box office on April 13. The opening weekend saw thousands of people thronging to the theatres to watch the film. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, failed to pick up momentum in the second week. It is facing stiff competition in the theatres from KGF: Chapter 2, starring Yash.

Beast was one of the most anticipated films of 2022. The hostage thriller hit the theatres on April 13, one day ahead of Tamil New Year. The film marked the first collaboration between Thalapathy Vijay and director Nelson Dilipkumar.

Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan pointed out that Vijay’s film has failed to pick up momentum in the second week. He wrote, “#Beast WW Box Office FINALLY the film manages to cross Rs 150 cr. Week 1 – Rs 143.72 cr. Week 2 Day 1 – Rs 1.96 cr. Day 2 – Rs 1.53 cr. Day 3 – Rs 1.30 cr. Day 4 – Rs 1.58 cr. Total – Rs 150.09 cr (sic).”

The Twitter handle of Trichy Films wrote that Beast has 26 shows in the city and has collected Rs 2.32 crore in the city.
