Fawad Khan breaks silence on Bollywood comeback chances

Fawad Khan has revealed if he will work in Bollywood again.

In Bollywood, the Pakistani actor has starred in the likes of Kapoor & Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He is now preparing the release of The Legend of Maula Jatt.

Fans are now wondering if Fawad will return to Bollywood.

Fawad admitted that while he enjoyed working in the Hindi film industry, the tensions between India and Pakistan made him suspicious.

Speaking to Variety, Fawad said, “Collaborating with the people I got to know and the types of people I was exposed to there was a great experience and I really enjoyed it.

“The political fallout [between India and Pakistan] didn’t influence our relationship, but it definitely made us very reluctant to answer such a question.

He went on to say that he was aware of the hate Indian and Pakistani celebrities receive for working with each other.

Fawad explained, “It’s a good question but I can’t give a definitive answer until things stabilize and there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed.

“I hate confrontation, I really avoid it. I don’t like controversy either.

“I think it’s more a question of whether someone else would like to work with me, rather than me working with others because the fingers will be pointed at them.

“I will do my job and leave but then the people who will have to suffer are those who want to collaborate with me.

“And I care because they’re going to live there and they’re going to suffer the consequences.

“Likewise if I had to work [in India] and come back [to Pakistan]I should suffer the consequences of what people or the government or any other body involved thinks about it.

Although tensions make collaboration difficult, Fawad Khan is attached to the friends he has made.

“I have a great relationship with the people I’ve worked with and made some great friends.”

“I would like to see them again one day, and maybe work with them again.

“Whether it is for an international platform, a Pakistani platform or for an Indian platform. Mainstream Bollywood is a completely different ball game.

Fawad Khan was last seen in the superhero series Mrs. Wonderbroadcast on Disney+.

On whether he thinks his character will appear in a potential second series, Fawad admitted:

“I think the character trail is over and sometimes the shortest and simplest things in life are the sweetest.

“But I don’t know how Disney would feel about what they want to do in the future.”
