Game Of Thrones: Jon Snow Sequel Series In Development At HBO
HBO is planning on a Game of Thrones series that will follow Jon Snow’s further adventures, according to our sister site THR.
If the film is a hit, Kit Harington will reprise his role as the one-time would-be Iron Throne replacement.
THR reached out to HBO and Harington’s representatives for comment, but neither responded
During his eight-season run as Jon Snow, Harington received two Emmy nominations (for supporting and then lead actor in a drama) and a Golden Globe nomination, and he was also a member of the epic saga’s frequently SAG-nominated ensemble.
All other projects currently in the works or announced are set before the events of the critically acclaimed series, so a Jon Snow spin-off would be the first Game of Thrones sequel.
House of the Dragon, which takes place 200 years before Game of Thrones and follows the Targaryen family, is by far the most likely to materialise, with a launch date of Aug. 21.
HBO’s chief programming officer Casey Bloys told that House of the Dragon “feels wholly its own… but yet within the Game of Thrones.
“We’ll greenlight something when we think it’s compelling, wonderfully done, and tells a story that we care about,” he said, adding that the network is working on more Game of Thrones spinoffs.
