After a long wait, Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey finally hit the theatres on April 22. But, it was hit by Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 wave, which is currently reigning supreme at the box office. Jersey picked up the pace after an average opening day. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the sports drama also stars Mrunal Thakur.

SHAHID KAPOOR: WE REDISCOVERED JERSEY, I MADE THE CHARACTER MINE
Jersey is the Hindi remake of Nani’s Telugu film of the same title. In an interview with IndiaToday.in, Shahid talked about his approach to the film and character, Arjun Talwar. He said, “We all felt inspired from the film that we saw. We wanted to take it to a different audience. We rediscovered it. And I have made that character mine in every way that I can and I have complete ownership and I am very possessive of him. But the character that was played by Nani was their first one. So, that respect will always be with him.”
Jersey is backed by Allu Entertainment, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments and Brat Films.
