By Janani K: Rishab Shetty’s Kantara is the next big offering from the Kannada film industry after Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2. The film’s Hindi version hit the theatres on October 14 and is riding high on positive word of mouth. The Hindi version is just a day away from completing a week in theatres. According to reports, Kantara is going steady at the box office. If reports are to be believed, the film earned over Rs 1 crore (Hindi version) on its sixth day.


Kantara turned out to be the highest-rated Indian film beating Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2. The film has been receiving rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.

On October 19, the Hindi version completed six days in the theatres. Reports suggest that the film collected over Rs 1 crore on its sixth day. The official numbers are still awaited. At this rate, Kantara is likely to have a long run in the theatres.


Kantara is an action thriller written, directed and acted by Rishab Shetty. The film explores the conflict between man and nature. Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, Pramod Shetty and Kishore were seen in supporting roles. The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films.
