Makers Of Drishyam 2 saves disaster for Ajay Devgn Starrer at the last minute by paying THAT big sum, details inside!

The trailer for ‘Drishyam 2’ was undoubtedly appreciated. Sounds good, honestly. Of course, it remains to be seen if the film performs as well as its first part. But what happened a few days ago scared the makers of “Drishyam 2”.

Goldmines Telefilms owner Manish Shah, who has a YouTube channel, nearly sabotaged upcoming Hindi ‘Drishyam 2’; he’s done almost the same with the Shahid Kapoor-directed “Jersey” and a few other movies in the past. A source tells us: “This is the fourth time. This is nothing but white collar hacking.

Alright, so what exactly happened? Manish bought the film’s Hindi dubbing rights from its Telugu directors D Suresh Babu, Antony Perumbavoor and Rajkumar Sethupathi who helmed the Telugu version of ‘Drishyam 2’ (titled ‘Drushyam 2’) starring Venkatesh and Shah was set to to put up the Hindi dubbed version of “Drushyam 2” on his YouTube channel; he planned a 22 October release (only 3 days before the Ajay movie) of the same. Ajay Devgn, Kumar Mangat and Co. had no choice but to tell him not to, but would Manish listen? No, he wouldn’t.

And beware, Mangat had purchased the Hindi dubbing rights of “Drishyam 2” from its creators in Malayalam (the Malyalam version had no “u” instead of “i” in its title and it featured Mohanlal as head) but little does he know that Manish would then be knocking on the doors of the Telugu version.

Mangat (producer of “Drishyam 2”) went to Manish and said “Kitna chahiye?”. Manish demanded Rs 3.5 crores excluding GST (18%). Mangat handed over the money and returned with a sigh of relief. Manish had agreed that he would not play spoilsport and release the Hindi version of the Telugu ‘Drushyam 2’; this would have deprived the film Ajay of many viewers.

When contacted, Manish Shah agreed that he took Rs 3.5 crore from Kumar Mangat for a settlement. “Lekin ismein galat kya hai?” he wanted to know. When we told him this was the fourth time he’d done this, he insisted it was just a business decision. “When a producer starts a film, he always needs more money as inputs to strengthen his film. And that’s where I came in. As always, I bought the Hindi dubbing rights from the creators of Venkatesh on the very day of mahurat.

Kumar Mangat, however, chose to remain silent on this matter. Until October 25. ‘Drishyam 2’ starring Ajay and Tabu in the lead roles and directed by Kumar Mangat’s son Abhishek Pathak is set to release.
