Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon to star in Dinesh Varjan’s romantic comedy after the former slashed its price to Rs 14 crore?
Earlier, the next film starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, was to be directed by debutant Amit Joshi. However, it is now managed by Dinesh Varjan after Shahid’s budget was reportedly resolved. Next to Varjan is Varun, the star of Kriti “Bhediya”.
The latest news from Bollywood is that the robot rom com is placed in the context of Indian culture and tradition. Shahid will play as a robot specialist, and Kriti, on the other hand, as a robot. It is inspired by the sci-fi drama Life Ok Bahu Hamari Rajinikanth and the 2014 Hollywood film Ex Machina.
“The film has finally taken off and will start soon. The issue arose due to Shahid Kapoor’s fees. The actor had quoted Rs. 30 cr. as his pay. However, he has now reduced his price to Rs. 14 cr. That in itself has significantly reduced the overall budget,” Bollywood Hungama quoted his source as saying.
His source added: “Shahid has settled with Rs. 14 cr. crosses a certain threshold. Maddock Films by Dinesh Vijan has not yet made an official announcement in this regard.
