Vijay’s film collects Rs. 60 lakhs; see a dip

‘Beast’, which was released on April 13, is still running in theatres. The film has been called a blockbuster hit and the movie has earned a box office of more than Rs 230 crore worldwide. On April 25, the movie saw a setback in terms of collection. Being a working week day, ‘Beast’ reportedly made Rs 60 lakh collection in ticket sales.

Though Vijay’s ‘Beast’ clashed with the pan Indian film ‘KGF 2’, the movie still holds steady in Tamil Nadu. It is expected that the film will run in theatres for a few more days. ‘Beast’ which was released on a weekday, before a long weekend holiday, had a huge monstrous opening at the box office. The film reportedly had a dream run and earned more than Rs 100 crore in the first three days of its release and by the second week it crossed Rs 200 crore. But, the film has been struggling, and it has now dropped to lakhs in terms of collection from crores.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, ‘Beast’ is an action film with a story focussing on terrorism and hijack. The movie features Vijay and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. It also has Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Aparna Das, VTV Ganesh, Shine Tom Chacko, Redin Kingsley in its cast. The music for the movie was composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the entire album is a super hit and the songs from the film are still on trending numbers.
